Forty cutting edge, and never-before seen, technology companies will debut at the LAUNCH Festival on March 7th and 8th 2012.
There will be two competitions held at the event:
LAUNCH 1.0 This competition is for completely new companies that have never had any press, public demos and whose services are currently in closed alpha or beta.
LAUNCH 2.0 This competition is for existing companies that are launching new products, or significant new versions of an existing product. For example, if Microsoft, Google or Aol were to launch a completely new social network, that would qualify. Additionally, if Twitter were to launch a completely new interface--like they did in the fall of 2010--that would qualify as a "significant new version" of an existing project.
We expect that the majority of companies presenting will be in the LAUNCH 1.0 competition, but we'll reserve judgment until the applications are in. The deadline to apply is January 15th 2012. Read more about the qualifications here on our FAQ.

Festival tickets are only $999. If you're a lawyer, accountant, big company VP, baller, investor, supporter, venture capitalist, head hunter or angel these tickets are for you! They include seating in the VIP class-room style tables which have waiter service. This means you don't have to leave your seat and miss any of the action, plus you'll have power to charge your laptop and phone. 10% off if you buy before January 1st.
We're giving away the first 100 tables in our demo pit for just $500. That includes the table, five tickets, electricity and internet. That is less than our cost for the tables. To apply for one of these table click here. After the first 100 tables are sold the price will go to $1,500.
Startups with over 10 employees or $500k raised can buy a ticket for just $299. It's important to support the Festival, so please buy these. You can save money buying four tickets for $1,000 here, or ten tickets for $2,000 and send your whole company.
We're giving away the first 200 tickets to the event for free to startups with under $100k in money raised and under 10 employees. There is a $1 processing fee.
The LAUNCH Festival is taking place in the 125,000 square foot San Francisco Design Center's Concourse Exhibition Center located at 635 8th Street San Francisco, CA 94103 on March 7th and 8th 2012.
The LAUNCH Team is staying at the San Francisco W (181 W. 3rd St., San Francisco, CA 94103). We recommend staying there, or at any of the other hotels near the San Francisco Design Center.
If your budget doesn't stretch to hotels, we recommend AirBnB.com (short-term home rentals) and CouchSurfing.org, which has an exceptionally strong community in the SF Bay Area.
